Developing as an Educator

I am continuing my education.  I am growing as a learner so I can help others learn.  I am enjoying the interaction with young people.  I am becoming what I want to become.

As I have gone through this class this semester I have learned that procrastination kills.  I feel that I understand the content.  I understand the need for developing new skills as well as rekindling old.  I recognize that I am not a very good  budgeter of my time.

I want to become a teacher for many reasons.  I see that education is such a process.  As we spent time in the Apach 4th grade class discovered in myself that I do want this.  Helping a child do something that is beyond what they may not have thought they could ever do is a remarkable thing.

I have been challenged in my thinking about what the purpose of teaching is all about.  From Nacirema to Apache Practicum.  From book readings to guest visits, these lessons have challenged me to look beyond.

I am grateful for this class.  As I reflect, I understand that this process will help me develop my core for my future classroom  Everyone is Linguistically Diverce, so it is imperative that I look into each person and see that they have a story to tell, and I can be the one to help them tell it.
